Triton Yachts has served North Carolina sailors for over two decades. Located in Oriental, NC – North Carolina’s Sailing Capital – Triton Yachts has served North Carolina boaters since 1983.
You’ll find owner Paul Welles at work most every day at the offices in Oriental. An experienced sailor, Paul and his staff and know both cruising and racing boats.
About Paul Welles
Paul and his father (Paul Welles, Jr) started Triton Yachts in Raleigh in 1983. Paul and his wife Nancy moved to Oriental in 1992, and since then the business has been based in Oriental. Paul has and owned and raced J/boats, Etchells, Ensign and Sunfish class sailboats. When away from the office Paul, Nancy and their two daughters are often cruising onboard their Morgan 41.
Beth Schwartz
Beth and her husband, Neal, have enjoyed sailing for the past thirty years. The first years were spent racing a CAL 28 and J92 on Lake Norman near Charlotte, NC. Most recently they have given up racing and have moved to New Bern, NC. They are enjoying their Pacific Seacraft 34, S/V Blues Harp, that they purchased in 2010. When they are not working on or sailing Blues Harp, they are active in the Cape Lookout Sail and Power Squadron and are restoring their 1920’s house in New Bern.
Keirn Rush
Keirn learned to sail with a plywood sailfish in the 50’s. He graduated from Indiana University in 1964 with a degree in Business and a minor in Sailing Club. The 80’s and early 90’s were spent in the Computer industry which paid the way for his Catalina 30 and then Catalina 36 which he kept on Lake Michigan. Keirn and his wife Carolyn took four months to Sail “Apple Pie” their Catalina 36’ down from Lake Michigan to Oriental in 1999. In 2000 Keirn began selling boats in Atlantic Beach and in 2002 opened Harbor Yachts in Oriental. Keirn chose to join Triton Yachts as a broker in 2010. Keirn is a member of the Yacht Brokers Association of America and he has earned the Certified Professional Yacht Broker Designation Certified Professional Yacht Broker, CPYB.
